Residents will conduct an original research project over the calendar year with the residency program director and select preceptors. Research will be presented on the local, regional, and national levels. Preparation of a manuscript about the research suitable for publication is required for completion of the residency program.
Residents also have the option of participating in the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy's Teaching Certificate Program. Through this program, residents are provided a broad understanding of issues in pharmacy education and opportunities to enhance their teaching skills. It has been constructed for residents to gain knowledge in educational theory, develop experience in teaching in various instructional settings, and document and reflect upon their teaching activities. Each resident completing the teaching certificate program will receive documentation certifying their achievements.
