AVM resection is a type of brain surgery used to remove an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), which is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels that can bleed or cause symptoms like seizures. During the surgery, the doctor carefully disconnects and removes the AVM from the normal blood vessels to prevent future bleeding and help restore normal blood flow in the brain.

Aneurysm clipping is a surgery where a doctor places a tiny metal clip at the base of a weakened, bulging blood vessel in the brain. The clip blocks blood from entering the aneurysm, which helps prevent it from bursting and causing a dangerous stroke.

Aneurysm coiling is another procedure used to treat a brain aneurysm. A doctor threads a thin tube through a blood vessel in the groin and guides it to an aneurysm. Then, soft platinum coils are placed inside the bulging area to block blood flow into the aneurysm, which then helps prevent the aneurysm from continuing to fill and ultimately burst.

Carotid Endarterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove plaque, a buildup of fat, cholesterol or calcium in blood vessels, and restore blood flow.

Doctors insert a thin tube (usually through the groin), guide it to the blocked artery, use a small balloon to widen the blockage, and then place a metal mesh, called a stent, to keep the artery open.
