A stroke is a sudden interruption of the blood supply to the brain. Most strokes are caused by an abrupt blockage of an artery (ischemic stroke). Other strokes are caused by bleeding into brain tissue when a blood vessel bursts (hemorrhagic stroke).

The mission of our Stroke Program is to provide the best evidence-based, multi-disciplinary care to all patients who have stroke symptoms and to provide this care in a safe, reliable, and timely manner. Our goal is to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by stroke through a timely diagnosis and patient-centered effective treatment to all stroke patients who seek care in our facilities. TriHealth’s system of certified stroke care is the most comprehensive in the greater Cincinnati area.
