Non-hospitalized patients who have contracted COVID-19 have treatment options.

Antiviral treatments: An Antiviral treatment works by stopping the COVID-19 virus from multiplying in your body. Reducing the amount of COVID-19 virus in your body may help prevent you from getting worse and reduces the need for hospitalization.

How do I know if I should get an antiviral treatment?

• You need a positive Covid-19 test.
• You need to be at high risk for developing serious COVID-19 symptoms.
• Oral (pill) antiviral treatment needs to be taken within the first 5 days your COVID-19 symptoms appear.
• You will need to consult a physician to determine if this treatment is right for you.
• Your physician will need to prescribe the antiviral treatment.
• For after-hours you can also visit a TriHealth Priority Care or TriHealth at Walgreens for an appointment to see if you are eligible for this treatment.

Monoclonal treatment: A monoclonal antibody treatment works by increasing your body’s ability to fight the COVID-19 virus. This treatment can prevent the virus from entering the cells in your body and help you fight the virus. The decreased amount of COVID-19 virus in your body may prevent your symptoms from getting worse and reduce your need for hospitalization.

How do I know if I should get the monoclonal treatment?

• You need a positive Covid-19 test.
• This treatment is specifically for people who are high risk for developing serious COVID-19 symptoms.
• Monoclonal treatment needs to be received within the first 7 days your COVID-19 symptoms appear.
• You will need to consult a physician to determine if this treatment is right for you.
• Your physician will need to prescribe the monoclonal antibody treatment.
• For afterhours you can also visit a TriHealth Priority Care or TriHealth at Walgreens for an appointment to see if you are eligible for this treatment.
