To expedite your appointment, please print, fill out and bring any necessary forms with you the day of your test. Access patient forms and preps.
If you or a loved one is undergoing diagnosis or treatment for a digestive disease or disorder, you can expect it will include a trip to one of our several locations throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Upon your arrival to the endoscopy waiting room, please be sure to check in at the desk. Give the clerk your name and the name of the person driving you home, if necessary.
The clerk will help you with pre-procedure paperwork. Then, the endoscopy nurse will greet you and take you to prepare for your procedure. If time allows, your family is welcome to come and wait with you in the pre-procedure area.
Please note:
Your family will be asked to return to the waiting room prior to the start of your procedure. The endoscopy nurse will update your family on delays.
When your procedure is complete, your visitors will be notified that you are in the recovery room. The physicians will speak to your family members or your visitors if you give your doctor permission to speak with them. Some physicians will only speak to family members. The physician may come out to the waiting rooms, call for them to come to the recovery room, or speak with them in one of the consultation rooms.
Recovery time takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes. During your recovery, one or two of your visitors will be asked to come to the recovery room to see you. At this time, the RN will review the discharge instructions with you and answer any questions you or your family may have.
Due to the physical setup of the recovery room and in consideration of the rights and respect for the privacy of others, your visitors may or may not be able to stay with you in the recovery area.
Visitors must remain in the waiting room until you are ready to be discharged. If they decide to leave the waiting room, they should let the volunteer know.
The recovery room staff will call the volunteer desk when it is time for you to be discharged. The volunteer will discharge you directly to your car.
