A Leading Cincinnati Hospital

From award-winning heart care to maternity services and senior-focused ER rooms,  We recently received the designation as a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care from Blue Cross Blue Shield. The Blue Distinction Centers designation signifies that our cardiac Program met nationally established Selection Criteria by demonstrating expertise in delivering quality specialty care, safely and effectively. Our other achievements include:

  • Cincinnati’s leader in acute heart attack care
  • Among the top 100 U.S. hospitals for cardiac care
  • Top choice for maternity care in northern Cincinnati
  • Only designated trauma center in northern Cincinnati
  • Greater Cincinnati’s most preferred hospital for orthopedic care
  • Top 5 percent in the country for clinical excellence
  • First and only health care system in the region to add ProFound AI for Digital Breast Tomosynthesis™. This technology further maximizes the advantages of 3D mammography and is the only software of its kind that offers clinically proven patient advantages over 3D mammography alone.
  • Cincinnati’s most experienced provider of endoscopy and digestive health services

A Commitment to Patient Safety

Bethesda North Hospital is one of four TriHealth hospitals to receive an ‘A’ for Patient Safety in the Fall 2018 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. Bethesda North, Good Samaritan, McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital and Bethesda Butler Hospitals each received the highest mark for their efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S. The Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among patients in their care.

Excellence in the Region

Our campus includes a seven-story patient tower and the Bethesda Imaging - Thomas Center, which houses the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care. These facilities have allowed us to build on our reputation of excellence in meeting the health care needs of the region.

Bethesda North Hospital was first created as a satellite facility of the now-closed Bethesda Hospital in Avondale, founded in 1896 by German Methodist deaconesses seeking to care for Cincinnati’s sick and poor.
