At McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital | TriHealth, some things are changing for the better. We recently made our nationally recognized Emergency Department more accessible to patients, staff and the entire Oxford region. New features include:
McCullough Hyde’s newly-expanded emergency department more than doubles the size of the previous department providing patients and their families with a more efficient, modern and safer space for emergency care.
The new lobby has separate entrances for walk-in patients and emergency squads, which enables staff to begin care almost immediately when a patient arrives.
The 12 new, individual treatment rooms give patients and their families additional privacy, and a dedicated trauma room, specially equipped to support trauma cases brings state-of-the-art emergency care to the Oxford region.
Other specialty rooms in the expanded emergency department include one specifically designed for psychiatric or suicidal patients, with enhanced security features.
Another room offers features that enhance the ability to treat and control infectious diseases, as well as perform decontamination, if necessary.
Two rooms are dedicated for geriatric patients and one for pediatrics.
Outside these rooms is a central workstation where staff directly observes patients at all times. This high-level of patient monitoring enhances care and is particularly critical for patients in emergency situations.
