Surgical Oncology at the TriHealth Surgical Institute

Surgical oncology is a subspecialty of general surgery that specifically involves the surgical removal of cancer. The TriHealth Surgical Oncology Program consists of fellowship-trained surgeons who are experts in their respective fields. An important part of cancer care is treatment in a multidisciplinary fashion. This means specialists in multiple different areas of cancer treatment all working together to develop a personalized treatment plan. In coordination with the TriHealth Cancer & Blood Institute, surgical oncologists at TriHealth work with a team of specialists that include medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, genetic councilors, dietitians and behavioral health specialists to deliver comprehensive care to patients with cancer. This is done through the use of tumor board conferences, multidisciplinary clinics, nurse navigation, clinical trials as well a wellness and survivorship programs.
