From a young age, Dr. Abubaker Hassan’s fascination with
medicine was nurtured by his mother, a devoted teacher
who guided his love for reading and biology toward a
career path. Witnessing his father’s struggle with end-stage
kidney disease opened his eyes to the practical aspects of
medicine and the profound impact it can have on patients
and their families.
As a board-certified critical care and lung physician,
Dr. Hassan brings a holistic approach to patient care,
recognizing the importance of teamwork and tailored
treatments. Having practiced medicine on three
continents – Africa, where he was born and trained; Asia,
where he refined his skills, and now North America, where
he has developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures
and healthcare systems. This global perspective makes
Dr. Hassan more flexible and attuned to listening and
understanding, regardless of creed or background.
Dr. Hassan finds joy in family life, with a loving spouse and
three children. Soccer remains a passion of mine, offering
a welcome balance to the demands of my profession.
He volunteers with the Sudanese American Physician
Association, contributing to knowledge sharing and
capacity building initiatives in his homeland.
