It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Training Program at TriHealth. You will find that our ACGME accredited program offers exceptional training which is wide in breadth and scope. Through an environment that is medically and surgically challenging, we place a strong emphasis on both patient care and research.
Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, TriHealth's Fellowship Program in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery offers comprehensive training in all areas of urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. The program emphasizes diagnostic evaluation and management of lower urinary tract dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, defecatory dysfunction, sexual function problems, pelvic pain, and complicated, benign pelvic surgery.
Fellows gain experience by working with a large clinical volume of patients who are managed both medically and surgically. Medical management includes biofeedback, physical therapy, pharmacologic therapy, and the use of pessaries. Surgical management includes a wide variety of procedures performed abdominally, vaginally, and laparoscopically/robotically. We also employ a complete approach to diagnostic testing, including multichannel urodynamics, cystoscopy, endoanal ultrasound, and neurophysiologic testing.
Our faculty is directly involved with the program, accredited since 1999 through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. One fellow is accepted per year, with three now in the program.
In addition, our division has a very active research focus, including a full-time research nurse and support through the Hatton Institute for Research and Education. Visit our research page to learn more about current studies.
