Dr. John Alford’s reasons for choosing medicine as a career were three-fold: he wants to help people, he likes the challenge of being a lifelong learner, and he enjoys working with others to solve problems. Family medicine provides a broad scope of practice, allowing him to see his patients through all stages of life and involving all medical aspects of the body.
An experienced doctor, Dr. Alford sees patients of all ages for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. He is especially interested in preventive care, pediatrics and women’s health. Dr. Alford likes to get to know about his patients and their lives so he can provide personalized treatment plans. He encourages everyone to recognize that, in most cases, they have the opportunity to practice and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Alford grew up in Northern Kentucky. He and his wife have a daughter. He has done medical mission work in Madagascar and Togo, Africa. He likes playing pickup basketball, hiking, biking, golfing and water sports. A music fan, he collects vinyl and enjoys traveling with his friends and family.
