George Kerlakian MD is a physician and surgeon at Group Health. His expertise in the field of bariatric surgery earned him the additional role of medical director for TriHealth Weight Management.
Dr. Kerlakian has experience in laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass as well as laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy, performing more than 1,500 bariatric procedures to date. Under Dr. Kerlakian's direction, TriHealth Weight Management has earned accreditation as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
In addition to his expertise in bariatric surgery, Dr. Kerlakian specializes in general surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. At Good Samaritan, Dr. Kerlakian serves as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Co-Chair of TriHealth Surgical Institute.
Dr. Kerlakian earned his medical degree from St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, and completed his residency in general surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital.
