Safi Faruqui, DO, is an accomplished orthopedic hand surgeon specializing in surgical treatment of common and complex hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions. Prior to joining TriHealth, he spent four years in active duty with the U.S. Navy, where he taught orthopedic residents and performed surgery on front line military personnel. He is also very active in orthopedic research, has given lectures at national meetings, and also has published both book chapters and numerous articles.

Dr. Faruqui graduated from Midwestern University medical school in Glendale, Arizona and completed an internship and his orthopedic surgery residency at Mercy St. Vincent medical center in Toledo, Ohio. He also completed a hand surgery fellowship under Dr. Peter Stern at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Faruqui treats adolescent and adult patients for a variety of conditions, including carpal tunnel, arthritis, and tennis elbow. He is proficient in specialized treatments for complex conditions, particularly surgical reconstruction for complex elbow conditions. Recent technological advances have allowed Dr. Faruqui to introduce upper extremity ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections into his practice.

Dr. Faruqui’s practice focus includes carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, fractures of the elbow, wrist, and hand, tendon and nerve injuries, and arthritis surgery of the upper extremity.

Patient education is a focal point of Dr. Faruqui’s practice. His goal is to provide each patient with a detailed roadmap for recovery, providing the keys to successfully returning to their normal routine. He dedicates time with each patient to provide a complete understanding of the causes of their conditions, treatment options, and how to plan life after recovery.

Away from the office, Dr. Faruqui cherishes family time with his wife and three children. He coaches soccer, enjoys hiking, and loves rediscovering Cincinnati, where he completed his fellowship training.
