Dr. Szczepanski always wanted to be a doctor. In medical school, she knew immediately that she would specialize in pediatrics. She loves the curiosity, humor and unfiltered honesty of children. She believes it is a privilege to partner with parents throughout their child’s journey, helping them maneuver the thrills and the challenges of childhood.
Known to her patients as Dr. K, she sees children from newborn through college age for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. Years of experience as staff physician in the division of emergency medicine at Cincinnati Children’s help Dr. K address a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries. She has a special interest in sports injuries, knowing that sports are important to a child’s health and development. She also is interested in nutrition and weight management. Dr. K creates a nonjudgmental environment where she stresses that all questions and concerns are valid and will be discussed. She feels strongly about the need to teach resilience – helping kids look forward to the future, to learn from the past and to live in the moment.
A native of Indianapolis, Dr. K and her husband have three sons. She volunteers at school and coaches volleyball. She enjoys reading, working out, running and various other sports.
