About Me
Conditions I specialize in
Dr. Andrea Rinderknecht comes to Madeira Pediatrics with 12 years of experience caring for ill and injured children in the Emergency Department of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She hopes to leverage her intimate knowledge of disease processes, diagnostics, and management to facilitate early recognition and outpatient management of conditions in order to help pediatric patients stay healthy, and to manage as many of their illnesses and injuries in a familiar, collaborative outpatient environment as possible, minimizing unnecessary Emergency Department visits. Providing evidence-based, individualized, family centered care is her priority.
A skilled and empathetic listener and communicator, Dr. Rinderknecht successfully translates her experiences as a mother of 2 boys and as faculty teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and colleagues to educating and empowering patients and families to understand their health, disease processes, and care, improving family confidence and comfort in caring safely and successfully for children.
Dr. Rinderknecht and her family prioritize healthy eating and physical fitness, as well as responsible world citizenship. She and her husband have cared for patients in Haiti, Honduras, South Africa, and Kenya, and feel that every patient, and especially every child, deserves passionate, patient-centered, world-class care. Born in Switzerland and raised in California, her heart is in the mountains. Since moving to Cincinnati, her interests have included CrossFit, triathlon, coaching her sons’ soccer teams, and exploring the culinary scene of the Queen City.
