When babies are born early, have health problems, or have a difficult birth, they may spend time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where they receive family-centered individualized care. This was the case for Hope, who is featured in this segment of TriHealth On Call. When Hope’s triplets were born prematurely, they received the care they needed at Good Samaritan Hospital’s state-of-the-art Level III NICU. Also featured is Kristin Coppage, MD, a Maternal and Fetal Medicine specialist with TriHealth’s Tri-State Maternal-Fetal Medicine Associates. Dr. Coppage explains family-centered care, its goal and how it is delivered by NICU staff.
