A recent study of 12 stroke centers suggest hundreds of stroke victims across the U.S. have delayed getting care out of fear of COVID-19. Christoper Zammit MD, with TriHealth’s certified Comprehensive Stroke Center at Good Samaritan Hospital, joins this segment of TriHealth’s Doctor on Call to stress the importance of getting immediate care when a stroke is expected and reminds patients that only a few minutes can mean the difference between life and death. He also reiterates that emergency departments and stroke centers are safe and ready in the event of an emergency and offers reminders of best practices in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
