As a cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Adams specializes in surgical procedures involving the heart and lungs. In his practice of more than 25 years, he has been dedicated to developing and performing minimally invasive surgical techniques, resulting in quicker recovery times and better outcomes for his patients.
Dr. Adams holds a special interest in robotic surgical therapy for lung cancer, an area that he has focused on for the past 12 years. His work has included refining robotic techniques on multiple platforms, training of more than 150 fellow surgeons, publishing on the subject and assisting industry in creating meaningful training. He also has been involved in developing effective lung cancer screening programs.
Dr. Adams believes in giving his patients accurate and honest information, laying the foundation for making shared decisions on individualized treatment plans. He values the relationships he builds with his patients, basing them on trust and respect. He encourages everyone to make healthier lifestyle choices to live better.
He and his wife have two children. He is an avid antique firearms collector and has written civil war history books. He also enjoys hockey, tennis and archery.
