Dr. Heather Mandrell’s interest in science led her to become a doctor of pharmacy, but she soon realized she wanted more in-depth interaction with patients. She prefers to work with children and loves the lighthearted atmosphere that usually surrounds her young patients.
Dr. Mandrell sees children from newborn through college age for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. With a background in pharmacy, she also provides medication management when needed. She creates a gentle, safe and open environment in the office. She strives to build trusting relationships with her patients and their families so they may feel free to ask questions and get the help they need. She encourages everyone to explore – find something that brings you joy, keep doing it and then look for other things that bring more joy.
An Oxford native, Dr. Mandrell is married to pediatrician Dr. Timothy Richmond. She enjoys gardening, bike riding and yoga.
