Dr. Hany Al-Khedr grew up in a family of medical
professionals and began going to work with his father, a
pulmonologist, at an early age. He distinctly remembers
reading a book about the digestive tract in fifth grade,
which started his interest in gastroenterology. He comes
to TriHealth after six years as an assistant professor of
digestive diseases at the University of Cincinnati.
As a board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Al-Khedr
sees adults for the diagnosis and treatment of conditions
involving the digestive tract, including inflammatory
bowel disease, abdominal pain and gastrointestinal
bleeding. He assures that his patients feel listened
to and understood, gathering as much information
as possible to make a better evaluation. Taking a
teamwork approach, he likes to involve his patients
in understanding their conditions and developing a
treatment plan together. He encourages everyone to
take time to understand their conditions and how they
can impact their care through proper diet.
With roots in Yemen, Dr. Al-Khedr grew up in Egypt and
came to the US for residency. He is married and has
three children. He enjoys playing and watching soccer,
swimming and being in nature.
