Brian Goico, MD, is a board-certified ENT with multiple clinical interests including ear diseases and treatments; pediatric ear, nose, and throat disorders; sinonasal disease; and thyroid/parathyroid surgery. Dr. Goico developed a passion for serving others while assisting his grandmother with Alzheimer’s disease when she lived with his family during his junior high and high school years. To this day, he tries to treat all patients with the same love and respect he gave his grandmother. His experiences with is grandmother led Dr. Goico to pursue a career in medicine, as well as to participate in several neuroscience research projects and publications about Alzheimer’s disease while an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Goico grew to love ENT for its ability to apply both surgical and medical techniques to allow patients to live better. He enjoyed finding the ability to apply his neuroscience background to the many neurosensory disturbances associated with ENT including smell, taste, and hearing disorders. He went on to complete his ENT residency at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center/Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
Dr. Goico’s love of neuroscience and passion for improving quality of life has given him a particular interest in hearing preservation and restoration, with a focus on cochlear implantation, bone anchored hearing aid implantation, and middle ear and mastoid surgery. He gains great satisfaction in assisting patients to regain or improve their ability to hear. As the first physician at TriHealth Physician Partners to perform cochlear implantation, Dr. Goico is especially happy to offer this type of service, restoring hearing for those who could no longer functionally hear.
In his free time, Dr. Goico enjoys cooking, swimming, and playing with his two daughters.
