Sheila Llanes-Diopita, MD, is a board-certified physician
who specializes in family medicine. Known to her patients
as Dr. Sheila, she provides care to patients of all ages at
the Wilmington office. Dr. Sheila was inspired to pursue a
career in medicine by a desire to help others lead healthier,
happier lives. She values the opportunity to make a
positive difference with individuals, while also enhancing
the health and wellbeing of the community. Her care
philosophy focuses on treating the person, not just the
illness, considering all aspects of a patient’s life – physical,
emotional, social and environmental.
Dr. Sheila approaches each patient with empathy, respect
and without judgment. She believes that understanding
a patient’s perspective and providing compassionate
care builds trust and helps foster a positive healthcare
experience. Dr. Sheila encourages her patients to recognize
the impact of preventative care and a healthy lifestyle to
lower the risk of developing chronic diseases. She also
urges them to be open and honest when communicating
with her so she may help them develop the best possible
treatment plans to meet their individual needs.
Dr. Sheila enjoys spending time with her family, baking and
doing DIY projects around the house.
