As a child, Dr. Samia Kanooz was intrigued by human physiology. She became a doctor in her native country of Pakistan and practiced there for 18 years before coming to the United States to be with family members who had moved here. After serving another residency at Marshall University in West Virginia, she practiced 11 years with a health system in southeastern Ohio. She also served as clinical assistant professor at an Ohio medical school.
Dr. Kanooz sees adults for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. She is very friendly and creates an atmosphere of trust. A good listener, Dr. Kanooz likes to be direct with patients, assuring that they can make informed decisions about their healthcare. She encourages everyone to be active, emphasizing that exercise helps both mental and physical health.
Dr. Kanooz is married to a TriHealth family medicine physician. They have three grown daughters. She often does charity work through her mosque. She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading and walking.
