About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • Cardiology
As a cardiologist, Dr. Rick Gaines enjoys being able to treat his patients at every level, from the prevention of illness to stopping disease progression to managing the symptoms. He is particularly interested in using noninvasive testing and advanced imaging to determine customized treatments for each patient. He works with the TriHealth cardiac CT program, which uses CT imaging to rapidly obtain 3-D images of the heart. This cutting-edge technology can be used to detect and assess a number of heart conditions, as well as plan and evaluate treatment options. Dr. Gaines treats adults with diseases of the cardiovascular system, including coronary and valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathies. He is specially trained in the interpretation of heart imaging and personally reviews the results with his patients. With a patient-centric approach, Dr. Gaines works with his patients and their families so they can fully understand their conditions and treatment plans. He encourages everyone to be engaged in their health care and make every day a healthy day. Married to a native Cincinnatian, Dr. Gaines enjoys spending time with his family. He also leads an active lifestyle with gardening, skiing and rock climbing.
