Marc Wahlquist, M.D. is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is board certified as an orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine.
Dr. Wahlquist earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. He then graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, serving an internship and completing a sports medicine/total joint replacement fellowship in Toledo, OH. In addition to his education and residency, Dr. Wahlquist has years of experience with patients and in leadership from his roles as chair of orthopedic departments and as a trauma director with various regional organizations and hospitals.
Dr. Wahlquist initially realized he wanted to become a doctor during his very first anatomy class at BYU. He was inspired by the human body’s divine design and capacity to function and heal itself. That inspiration led to the coursework, training and decades of caring for patients that now helps him focus on inpatient and outpatient orthopedic evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Those treatments include replacement of knees, hips and shoulders. He often diagnoses and treats rotator cuff injuries, meniscus tears, carpal tunnel and extremity fractures.
Dr. Wahlquist loves spending time with his wife and five children hiking, playing games, and serving in their church and community.
