The love of science, combined with a passion for impacting people’s health and well-being, brought Dr. Mara Sponseller to medicine. She chose to specialize in internal medicine for the challenges presented in diagnosing and problem solving. She also values meeting patients and learning about their lives.
Dr. Sponseller sees adults for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. She is particularly interested in women’s health and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. She believes in a patient-centered approach, working together with her patients to find the best care plan. She wants patients to feel comfortable sharing their goals and priorities. While advances in medicine make many treatments possible, she works with her patient to assure that any plan allows for an acceptable quality of life, staying in line with the patient’s needs and desires.
Originally from North Canton, Dr. Sponseller came to Cincinnati for medical school. She met her husband here and found a new home. She enjoys running, workout classes, trying new restaurants and hanging at home with her husband and their cat, Kool-Aid.
