About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • Internal Medicine

As an grade school student, Jami Gibson, ANP-BC, experienced the care and expertise of a nurse who realized something else was wrong with her mother, who was about to be discharged after gallbladder surgery. That incident inspired Jami to become a health care advocate for those in need. After five years in the intensive care unit as a registered nurse, she became a nurse practitioner in 2012. She has worked in several areas, including palliative and oncology care.

Jami now works with adults to prevent, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illness. She is especially interested in preventive medicine and keeping people with chronic illness stable. Jami creates a safe space for patients to be open about their concerns and listens carefully to their needs. She stresses that they have a partner and advocate for their health care journey. Jami encourages everyone to pay attention to mental health, because it’s as important as – and often impacts – physical health.

As a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Jami chairs the Stork’s Nest committee, which helps women of color who need support though pregnancy. She enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.

My visit with Dr. Gibson was the best experience I've had with any medical professional in YEARS. She was incredibly kind and patient as I explained my complicated medical history, walked me through her approach to care, and gave me a clear path forward to start addressing the problems I've been trying to resolve for years but weren't being taken seriously by other providers.
