Dr. Jack Basil is a Board-Certified Gynecologic Oncologist working at Trihealth. As a member of the Trihealth Cancer and Blood Institute he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers and complex gynecologic surgeries. His focus is on providing comprehensive compassionate care for these patients and families navigating these complex conditions.
Dr. Basil earned his medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Emory University in Atlanta before joining Trihealth in 2004. He previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Good Samaritan Hospital from 2010-17. From 2017-21 he was the System Chief for Women’s Services at Trihealth from 2027-21, overseeing over 75 Women’s Services providers.
His area of expertise includes cancers of the uterus, cervix, ovaries, vagina and vulva. Additionally, he treats patients with gestational trophoblastic disease and performs complex gynecologic procedures. Dr. Basil has a special interest in robotic surgery, which allows him to perform complex gynecologic surgical procedures through minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Basil is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgery. He is an active member of the Society of Gynecology and actively enrolls patients in national and international research protocols. He also spends time teaching in the Trihealth Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
He resides in Cincinnati with his wife Dr. Lesley Breech, a Pediatric Gynecologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. They have two adult daughters. Dr. Basil enjoys travel, golf, pickleball and reading.
