About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • Breast Surgical Oncology
Facing the fight against breast cancer can be frightening for patients. Barbara Wexelman, MD, chose to become a breast surgeon to help her patients through the most challenging, most stressful battles and return to their normal lives.

Dr. Wexelman treats patients for benign and malignant breast disease. Combining her love of surgery and her dedication to women's health, she provides state-of-the-art breast cancer surgery treatment with the TriHealth Cancer Institute. Dr. Wexelman has fellowship training in nipple sparing mastectomy, a specialized surgical technique that removes breast tissue without removing the nipple. As each patient is unique, she works closely with patients and providers to develop a highly customized, multidisciplinary treatment plan.

Dr. Wexelman's practice focus includes:
  • Breast surgery for benign and malignant breast disease
  • High-risk and hereditary breast cancer management and screening, including BRCA
  • Nipple sparing mastectomy
  • Lumpectomy/Breast conserving therapy
  • Prophylactic mastectomy
Dr. Wexelman earned her medical degree from Yale University and completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Harvard Medical School with the Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Wexelman earned her MBA from Yale University's School of Management, where she focused on surgical quality improvement and health care disparities. Her hobbies include U.S. politics, traveling and cooking
