Dr. Abi Kallenberg found her calling in pediatric medicine as a result of her lifelong passion for education, human connection and interest in early childhood development.
Dr. Kallenberg sees children from newborn through college age for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, including depression and anxiety. She takes a holistic approach in her practice, with a focus on preventive care, helping children thrive in all aspects regarding their physical and mental well-being. While in residency, Dr. Kallenberg collaborated with the Weitzman Institute and LEGO Group in Prescription for Play, a program delivered during wellness exams for children 18‑36 months to emphasize the developmental importance of play. She launched the program at Mass General Hospital for Children, conducted research and has continued consulting with the Weitzman Institute on the science of play.
Born in England, Dr. Kallenberg grew up in Cincinnati, attending Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy before returning to the United Kingdom for her final two years of high school. She earned her MBBS – the English equivalent of MD – before returning to the United States for residency. She and her husband love cooking, skiing and hiking with their Irish Setter, Nola.
