TriHealth, Cincinnati’s nationally recognized health care system, is excited to announce the undertaking of a significant, multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment to modernize its technology and data platforms with its migration to Microsoft Azure, a comprehensive public cloud computing platform.
This modernization effort is designed to strengthen TriHealth’s digital capabilities, support a more consumer-focused health care experience, and create a scalable platform for artificial intelligence and big data that will advance high-quality, accessible care while driving innovation and smarter decision-making.
“At TriHealth our technology investments are grounded in our responsibility to the communities we serve,” said Donna Peters, TriHealth Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “Modernizing our technology and data platforms helps us support our caregivers with better tools, strengthen operational resilience, and build a health care system that is responsive to patient needs today while preparing for the opportunities of tomorrow. Choosing Microsoft Azure as our primary cloud platform is a critical step in that journey.”
TriHealth is migrating its customer electronic health record solution, Epic, to Microsoft Azure – integrating Azure Virtual Machines, NetApp Files, ExpressRoute and other Azure infrastructure services. Migrating to Azure gives TriHealth a solid cloud foundation that can scale as they build out current services and develop future services.
TriHealth’s modernization strategy supports the growing role of consumerism in health care by enabling more seamless, connected and responsive digital experiences for patients. A modern cloud technology and data foundation also positions the organization to responsibly adopt advanced analytics and AI capabilities, supporting insights that can enhance care delivery, operational efficiency, and long-term planning. The end result of this multi-year investment is the creation of a secure, reliable, and flexible digital environment that supports innovation while maintaining strong standards for privacy, security, and trust. The modernization effort also improves collaboration across teams and provides a foundation for continuous improvement as health care technology and patient expectations continue to evolve.
