One of Paulette's top recommendations includes seeing your healthcare provider on a regular basis. "Don't skip those appointments," she says. "They are very important."

Even during pregnancy, exercise is still important – and encouraged.
"Sometimes, as the baby grows, it's a little bit harder," Paulette points out. "But, we have people who are runners that run through their whole pregnancy, and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as everything is normal."
She also reminds women that labor is hard work, so it's important to maintain some type of fitness routine during pregnancy. "You're going to use every muscle to get that baby out, so exercise. Keep in good shape."
