When she was first admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital at 24 weeks pregnant, Alex didn't know what was in store for her growing family.

"I ended up spending ten weeks in the hospital before I had my son," she said about the time leading up to her delivery at 34 weeks. "But then I got to meet the NICU nurses."

Following her son Felix's time there, the NICU has even inspired a rather big change in Alex's professional life, as well.

"Those NICU nurses were incredible," she said. "It made me want to be a nurse - I am going back to school to be a NICU nurse to help other babies and families with that start."
